A Must-Have for HVAC-R Depth on the Mechanical PE Exam

This book provides 85 questions that are very similar in length and quality to the kinds of problems you will find on the real exam. If nothing else it stresses the fact that you should be bringing your ASHRAE hanndbooks as well as possibly a few ASHRAE standards to the exam.

I made myself take this exam 3 times before the real test date. Each time I sat myself down and actually took the exam front to back only allowing myself two 4 hour sections to complete it. It really sharpens your timed test-taking skills. By the 2nd or 3rd time you take this test you should be able to finish the entire thing in 4-6 hours. At that point you should be wholly prepared to answer any exam question they'll throw at you in 6 minutes or less.

I think I only saw 1 error in my book and it was minor and already covered in the errata.

Accurately portrays the actual level of difficulty of exam questions.

Studying for the PE Exam, I used the Mechanical Engineering Reference Manual (MERM), "Practice Problems for the Mechanical Engineering PE Exam" and "Mechanical PE Sample Examination" by Lindeburg in addition to this book. I noticed that the level of difficulty of the questions in the books by Lindeburg was far greater than that of this book. However, after taking (and passing) the exam, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Six-Minute Solutions book accurately portrayed the actual exam questions, unlike the books by Lindeburg.

My advice: use the MERM in conjunction with the Practice Problems by Lindeburg first, then move on to other practice problems / practice exams by Lindeburg. By this point, you'll be in full panic mode. Then, move on to this book last and realize that the exam won't be anywhere near as hard as Lindeburg made it seem! Good luck!

Great test book

Great test book. Passed the test in one try and has many similar questions to whats on the exam. The questions are harder than the actual exam, which will make taking the real thing easier.

Just be warned, this is really for the afternoon portion. The morning has questions on more topics than just HVAC.

I highly recommend picking up this book! You will enjoy it as you sit cozy in a blanket drinking hot chocolate. This book will take you to a different world. I loved this book! It was my favorite out of both titles. (Sarah Storm Life Isn't Always a Fairy Tale 2013-09-23)

It is so amazing to me that a book written around sixty years ago still has a high honor in the Christian fiction world today. I am so glad Barbour book decided to bring back there Grace Livingston Hill books for all of us to enjoy. Grace Livingston Hill never fails to share the plan of Salvation through Christ in her books. I really want to encourage you to pick up a copy of The Substitute Guest, and to check Barbour Books for many more books written so long ago by the Queen of Fiction. The setting is a remote farm during a Christmas Eve blizzard. Into the home of father, mother, daughter and son comes a stranded traveler. How he ends up staying with them over Christmas, in the place of an invited guest who did not come, makes for a lovely, warm story that describes the celebration of Christmas as it should be. I wanted to move in with this family! The perfect Christmas story.

I loved this book and its characters. If you ever wanted to accidentally stumble into another world than your own, you would do good to meet the family that Alan Monteith meets. May you meet the Savior that Alan comes to know.

I teach my students to always look things up. By having the info in one place, makes it easy for my students. I like the exercises that force a student to look up formatting. So many times the students just want to type right from the book without making decisions. In the beginning lessons, I like how the new keys and information are introduced. I love KeyPro."

About the Author
Dr. Susie H. VanHuss received her B.S. degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from Indiana University. Her teaching specialties include business communications, administrative systems, and personnel management. Her work, includes textbooks in communications, keyboarding and word processing, and office technology. She has written numerous journal articles and has served on the editorial review boards of several leading business education journals.

Dr. Connie M. Forde is a professor in the Department of Instructional Systems and Workforce Development at Mississippi State University. She serves as curriculum coordinator and advises masters and doctoral students in the instructional technology programs. Dr. Forde is also the faculty advisor of Pi Omega Pi, the honorary society for business teacher education. She is an author on numerous word processing and integrated computer applications simulations as well.

Donna L. Woo is an Instructor and Department Coordinator for Information Systems/Office Automation for Cypress College and Associate Director of Education at Pacific College. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Business Education from Michigan State University and earned her Ed.D. from Nova University. Her industry experience includes work for both IBM and General Motors. A respected author, Dr. Woo has written several word processing textbooks and has served as a coauthor on several editions of South-Western College Keyboarding textbooks.

Dr. Linda Hefferin is a Professor in Business Management at Elgin Community College in Elgin, Illinois.

Different edition

I typed in the ISBN for the book I needed and the description and the image was for the book and editon that I wanted so I purchased it and even on 2 day ship it was such a good deal. I guess the deals that are to good to be true are.. I recieved the book and it was the word 2002 edition not the 2007 edition shown in the image.. buyers beware..

Maud stands to inherit a small fortune when she marries, and Gentleman intends to marry her, steal her inheritance, and imprison her in a madhouse. Sue agrees to pose as a maid to Maud and to gain her confidence. But Sue finds Maud sweet and trusting, and, to her surprise, she begins to fall in love with Maud and have serious misgivings about Gentleman's plan. But Sue only knows a small part of the scheme, and it will affect both her and Maud in ways she does not realize. The intricate plotting and startling revelations will keep the reader enthralled, rapidly turning the pages to get to the exciting conclusion. Implausible plots

I read the book knowing that it is a Booker award nominee, but without knowing the plot, without knowing that there is a BBC miniseries, without knowing that this is a crime novel with a lesbian love in a time of Dickens.

Waters did try hard to put the elements of lesbian love into the time, and tried hard to make everything plausible. To be fair this is a enjoyable read as the theme and the story is very unusual. However my opinion is toward negative.

First, the plot. It is so contrived with so many twists that you feel that there is no surprise if in the next chapter everything is upside down again, and once more in the next next chapter you are told that everything is a dream.

Second, Mrs Sucksby. I just cannot understand Mrs Sucksby: How can she (1) exchange her own daughter with somebody and wait for 17 years just for a insecure future money, and (2) how can she not love, not a bit, the exchanged fake daughter after 17 years of living together so as to send her into a mad house without rue? These two facts are simply unreasonable but so crucial in the book; and the plot of Gentleman and Sucksby, and hence the whole setting of the book is based on this. It just cannot persuade me.

Finally, most of the characters are flat. The tone and language of Sue is too mature and erudite for an illiterate. How can she know Helen and Troy? How can she know so many rare words? The dialogue and reaction between the characters of Lant street in the scene that Sue is back with a knife is ridiculous enough -- that is too calm and rational, too many words, to be true.

Overall this is a enjoyable but light read. A good novel makes readers feel for the characters and care for their fates. A great novel makes readers ponder. However for this one, It seems there are too many plots and not so many deep things to ponder if the plots are dropped out.

Loved it!

The definition of fingersmith: (slang), for a midwife or pickpocket. This holds true for both as you'll soon see.

I swear Sarah Waters must have a time machine at her disposal to be able to write such depth and intricate details of London in the 1800's. No stone goes unturned in this one. From the slums, to the city life, to a boarded-up mansion and lunatic asylum--it all comes bursting off the pages in this master piece of a novel.

As for the plot, it revolves around a bunch of con artists. And I, for one always enjoy those types of stories. Who doesn't like it when cons try to out do each other? Especially when the characters are so completely developed, their backgrounds exposed, well, as much that can be explained by the author at the time. For yes! You, my lovely readers will be conned as well. Your breathing will increase and you'll find yourself slipping back and forth a few pages to make sure what you just read and that it was truly happening.

Victorian London and a heist scheme......

I was drawn in by the fact that I've loved other books by this author. She has a way of making you feel as though you're a part of Victorian London. Her descriptions of people, places and even mundane things are a true lyrical gift. However, the middle of this book dragged on for me. It was as though we were living through Maud & Sue's dreary days with them. I get that some of that is necessary to create suspense, but after a while, it seemed overkill and it got stale.

The beginning and the end were fabulous, and even parts of the middle sucked me in. There were a lot of twists that got me and some that didn't. No doubt, however, that there is no clear "good" or "bad" characters in this novel, only varying shades of gray- and I loved that!!

Warning: this book will change you!

I was excited to read this book because I thought it'd help me know more about my faith and my creativity. Little did I know at that point that it would change the way that I live and the way I interact with others! This is not a book about creativity, this is a manifesto for your soul. And it is good.

powerful perspective shift

This book is a powerful perspective shift! Erwin's writings have caused me to see my life a creative act, rather than a fixed set of events and people that happen to me.

There is so much freedom and passion available in these pages!

artistic and creative and profound

love how he weaved theology of art / creativity together with the Creator. i missed a bit of his own personal narrative, my only criticism is that it feels a bit too heady, and i feel like McManus, who is a creative genius, missed a golden opportunity to show me who he is and why he has been an artistic catalyst for years. but very well done.
